SILVER FILMS is a Swedish production company founded in 2017 by producer Anna Byvald. A boutique outfit, it focuses on high-quality projects with international potential, collaborating with directors who have a distinctive personal voice. Based in Gothenburg, Sweden, the company operates globally. Notable international productions include: Maggie in Wonderland (2008) by Ester Martin Bergsmark, Mark Hammarberg and Beatrice Andersson, which won a Guldbagge Award and was recognized at CPH:DOX and Doc Alliance. Guldbagge-winning Dance Music Now (2013) and Conquering China (2015) by Johan Jonason, nominated for Best Nordic Documentary at the Stockholm Film Festival and screened at CPH:DOX and the Rotterdam Film Festival. Earthlings (2022), directed by Steven Doughton and adapted from Jonathan Raymond’s novel, with Todd Haynes as executive producer. The film was nominated for Best International Film at the Gothenburg International Film Festival. Jihad Jane (2019) by Ciaran Cassidy, which was distributed in UK and Irish cinemas and aired on SVT Dox. Aranda (2011) by Anu Kuivalainen, which screened at Visions du Réel. Petey and Ginger (2012) by Ada Bligaard Søby, nominated for Best Nordic Documentary at CPH:DOX.

Silver Films is currently in post-production on Lust, the upcoming feature by Ralitza Petrova, and Waves of Silence by Farzad Samsami, which was selected for the EFM Doc Toolbox program, part of the European Film Market’s Diversity & Inclusion initiatives.
